Filip Koltsov began dancing at the age of six, taking his first steps in pop dance classes before discovering the discipline and beauty of classical ballet. At ten, he was accepted into the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, where his talent and determination quickly flourished. With a ballerina mother and a musician father, the path of an artist felt both natural and inevitable.
Over the years, he has performed internationally in countries including Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Finland, Andorra, Mexico, China, South Korea, and Morocco.
Among his favorite roles are the Jester in Swan Lake, a character whose freedom of spirit and truth-telling nature he deeply relates to, and the Devil in Peer Gynt, a role that allows him to embody power and fearlessness. He cites Peer Gynt as his favorite ballet — a story of searching and self-doubt that resonates with his own artistic journey.
Filip draws inspiration from Sir Max, the hero of the Labyrinths of Echo novels, for his sincerity, compassion, and commitment to remaining true to himself. His ultimate aspiration is to bring the beauty of high art into everyday life and to inspire others through the sincerity of dance.
He lives by the advice his father once gave him: “Endure — it strengthens the soul.”
Since 2025, Filip Koltsov has been performing with World Ballet Company, sharing his artistry and creative spirit with audiences across the United States.
