
Igor Leushin was born in Almalyk, Uzbekistan. When he was five, his family moved to Russia, where he began studying ballroom dancing and gymnastics. Encouraged by his gymnastics coach, he enrolled in ballet classes and, at ten, started his training at the Novosibirsk Choreographic School. After graduating in 2010, he continued his education at the Vaganova Ballet Academy.
His professional career has included engagements with the Leonid Jakobson Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre, the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, and Atlanta Ballet in the United States. Since 2020, he has danced with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing a diverse repertoire across classical and contemporary productions.

Cipollino — particularly the role of Count Cherry, a part for an experienced dancer in a children’s ballet
Favorite Fictional Character:
Edward Elric from the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist — he is very complex and interesting character with a challenging life story
Most Demanding Ballet Role:
The Golden Idol in La Bayadère — an unnecessarily difficult variation with a high risk of injury
Least Favorite Exercise:
Adagio at the barre
