Located at 201 Forrest Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the Saenger Theater first opened in 1929 as a grand “movie palace” designed by noted architect Emile Weil. With its Art Deco styling, atmospheric ceiling, and historic Robert Morton pipe organ, the theater recalls the golden age of entertainment while providing a modern stage for today’s performances. Restored and reopened in the early 2000s, it now hosts concerts, comedy, theater, and film in an intimate yet elegant setting. Situated in the heart of downtown, the Saenger is surrounded by shops, dining, and cultural landmarks, making it a cherished hub for the community.
